John Richardson-Hill

It is with great sadness that we report the death, from a heart attack,  of John Richardson-Hill on Wednesday 4th February 2004.

John had a long association with Centaurs and made a significant contribution to the Club. . John's company, D.J.C. Associates, was the major sponsor in the 1990's and his financial support was vital in order for the Club to remain financially viable.

However, of equal importance, were his efforts in supporting the 1st XV. For probably the  most successful seasons in the Club's history, John  offered his services as "bagman" to the side every week, without fail. He knew that his support and organisational skills would be highly beneficial. Individually, each player in the side would believe that to represent the Club at first team level was special and collectively, the performance of the team would improve. In performing these duties, John will be therefore be remembered for his dedication, good humour, friendliness and enthusiasm . He greatly enjoyed his time at Centaurs and Centaurs, in turn, enjoyed his company and derived great benefit from his efforts.

At this time, our thoughts are with his partner Sheila and his family, especially his daughter Clare.  John will be sorely missed by all his friends at the Club and at our next function, we will raise our glasses in memory of a good friend and a true Centaur.
